Milwaukee Brewers! With pitchers and catchers reporting today, Milwaukee will embark on a 2020 season that sees them going after a club record third straight playoff appearance. Unlike 2019, there has been little in the way of flashy moves unless you count allowing flashy players to sign free agent contracts elsewhere. David Stearns and Company made up for that with a plethora of moves that saw Brewer favorites leave and new names come into the fray. Some of the headliners include: Keon Broxton, Shelby Miller, Justin Grimm, Jace Peterson, Logan Morrison, Tuffy Gosewich, and Mike Morin. While Jake Faria was designated for assignment, he passed through waivers and was sent to the minor leagues too. With the exodus of so many house-hold names like Grandal, Moustakas, Thames, Shaw, Nelson, and Perez, the new Brewers might take a little bit of time to get to know. Milwaukee failed to bring in the splashy acquisition in 2020 like they did in 2018 and 2019. Nonetheless they brought in a lot of players that could make a modest to substantial impact. Luis Urias, Avi Garcia, Eric Laurer, Omar Narvaez, and Josh Lindblom are apt to become the new household names. Justin Smoak, David Phelps, and Jedd Gyorko could bounce back and give the Brewers a needed boost. In any case, the Milwaukee Brewers will be worth watching.
